SYSTEMS CERTIFICATION SERVICES


 
1.0 INTRODUCTION

TPL-CB is an independent Certification Body of Tata Projects Limited, Quality Services Division. TPL-CB provides certification services in the fields of Quality and Environmental Management Systems (QMS and EMS). TPL-CB offers efficient and reliable services through qualified auditors with experience in diverse industry sectors supported by wide network of offices throughout the country.

 

ISO 9001 Certification (QMS)

Organizations aiming to gain competitive edge through quality must adopt Quality Management System as part of their strategy to improve business. ISO 9001 provides a frame work for systematic approach to manage processes with focus on customer requirements and continual improvement.


ISO 14001 Certification (EMS)

Environment Management System helps an organization to identity, control and monitor environmental aspects and impacts, thereby improving the image of the company among the stake holders and cost reduction through conservation of resources.

2.0 CERTIFICATION PROCESS

2.1 An organization seeking certification to ISO 9001: 2000 or ISO 14001: 2004 can contact:

2.2 Upon receipt of query, TPL-CB seeks information about the organization in Format CBF-02 attached. Upon receipt of the information, if the organization’s scope is within certification services, a quotation will be sent.

2.3 If the quotation is accepted, a contract for Certification Service is made indicating the terms and conditions of certification.

2.4 Granting & Maintaining Certification.

2.4.1 Any Organization seeking Certification by TPL-CB is required to comply with the following requirements.

  • A documented QMS / EMS as required by the respective standard has to be established, all applicable elements implemented and maintained.
  • The effectiveness of implementation is to be verified through at least one internal audit covering all the applicable elements of the standard & one management review.

2.4.2 On completion of above activities, the organization can inform TPL-CB for organizing the audit.

2.4.3 A competent audit team will carryout audit as per TPL-CB procedures. When the organization is found complying with the requirements of applicable standard, it will be granted certification.


2.4.4 The certificate is valid for a period of 3 years and the organization will have to undergo two surveillance audits as a minimum at one year interval. At the end of three years the organization will be subjected to recertification audit.

2.5 Conditions for extension or change of scope.

2.5.1 If the scope certified requires a change due to any reason such as new products or services added or any changes to existing scope of certification, it shall be communicated to TPL- CB in writing advising the change required in the certificate.

2.5.2 The change shall be reviewed and responded accordingly. If required, additional audits may be carried out to justify the changes prior to issuance of any revised certificate.

2.6 Conditions for suspension or withdrawal of certification

2.6.1 Certification may be suspended under any of the following conditions

  • Corrective actions on any reported nonconformities in internal/ external audits or customer complaints are not attended.
  • Failure to comply with terms & conditions stipulated in the Certification agreement
  • The surveillance audits are unduly delayed.

2.6.2 Certification may be withdrawn under any of the following conditions.

  • The initial certification conditions are no longer valid.
  • TPL -CB Certificate is misused.
  • Repeated failure to comply with the terms & conditions of certification agreement

3.0 RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES OF CERTIFIED ORGANIZATIONS.

3.1 A certified organization is permitted to use certificate as specified in Certification Agreement.

3.2 The Organizations have a right to seek any clarification or may appeal to Management Quality Council (MQC) (The Executive Director, Tata Projects Limited, 1-10-60/3, Begumpet, Hyderabad – 500 016, Telephone: 040-27768801, Extn.401) on any dispute or complain on its decisions at any stage .TPL-CB has documented procedure to handle and resolve such issues. The result will be communicated to the organization or to the individual as applicable.

3.3 In case of EMS, the organization is responsible for its initial & continued compliance with Legal & Regulatory requirements. In case of non compliances, the organization has to take actions to restore compliance with the specified requirements.

3.4 The Organization is to maintain a record of complaints received from customers or interested parties & their resolution and these are to be made accessible to the TPL –CB during audits.

3.5 A directory of certified organizations indicating the scope, location and other details is maintained by TPL-CB and will be made available for any interested party upon request.
