TPL Bags a Contract from Tata Steel

 
     
 

Hyderabad, December 21, 2011: Tata Projects Limited (TPL) (SBU Water & Waste Water) bagged an order from Tata Steel for the design, engineering, supply, erection, testing, commissioning and demonstration of performance tests, including civil and structural steel works for its Kalinganagar Project in Odisha. The order value is approximately Rs.198 crore and its completion time is 18 months.

 
     
     
 

TPL Bags the Largest Contract from PGCIL

 
     
 

Hyderabad, December 14, 2011: Tata Projects Limited (TPL) (SBU Transmission & Distribution) bagged the largest ever Transmission Line contract from the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), a Navaratna Public Sector Enterprise and one of the largest transmission utilities in the world, for the supply and construction of (i) a 303 km-long 765 kV Double Circuit Transmission Line from Nellore Pooling Station to Kurnool for Common System, which will transmit the power generated from Simhapuri, Meenakshi, Krishnapatnam (APPDCL) and Krishnapatnam (Navayuga) Power Generation Projects and (ii) a 12 km-long LILO of 400 kV Double Circuit (Quad) Simhapuri to Nellore Transmission Line at Nellore Pooling Station in Krishnapatnam area, Andhra Pradesh. The total order value is approximately Rs. 625 crore and completion time is 32 months.

The Company also received a Transmission Line (TL) contract from the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) for the supply and construction of the 64 km-long 400 kV double circuit TL from Dulhasti to Kishenpur in Jammu and Kashmir. The order value is approximately Rs.152 crore.

Hyderabad, October 10, 2011: Tata Projects Limited (SBU – OGH) received an order from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for the construction of fire water network for its Uran Plant on a turnkey basis. Hyderabad, November 4, 2011: Mr. Vinayak Deshpande, Managing Director, Tata Projects Limited (TPL), received an award on behalf of TPL for being ranked the Fastest Growing Construction Company in India in 2010-11, from the former Minister of State for External Affairs, Mr. Sashi Tharoor, at a glittering and well attended ceremony held recently in Mumbai.

The event, a much awaited annual extravaganza in the infrastructure world, was organized by Construction World, the largest circulated construction business magazine with editions in India and Gulf.

The Company was also received an Award for being rated amongst the Top 10 Most Admired Construction Companies for the fifth year in succession – 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, based on a survey conducted amongst industry professionals who rated Companies on transparency, sharing prosperity with employees, corporate governance, delight of customers, good corporate citizenship and EVA amongst others.

TPL Receives D&B-Axis Bank Infra Award 2011

 
     
 

Hyderabad, October 17, 2011: Tata Projects Limited (TPL), one of the leading Engineering, Procurement and Construction Companies in India, received the ‘D&B-Axis Bank Infra Award 2011’ from Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) and Axis Bank on October 17, 2011, at Mumbai.

The award waThe award was presented to TPL for its exemplary performance during the execution of a Captive Thermal Power Plant, Udaipur, which was selected as the best project under the category of `Power Plants’.

Mr. AK Sharma, Head of SBU Power Generation, received the award on behalf of TPL from Mr. SS Kohli, former Chairman & Managing Director, India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd. and Mr. Kaushal Sampat, President & CEO, India D&B, at a glittering ceremony attended by leading infrastructure companies. Tata Projects Limited and Balfour Beatty India Sign MoU

 
     
 

Hyderabad, October 11, 2011: Tata Projects Limited (TPL), the Infrastructure Engineering and Construction arm of the Tata Group, and Balfour Beatty plc’s newly-formed Indian subsidiary, Balfour Beatty India Pvt Ltd, today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at a function in Mumbai to collaborate on emerging infrastructure opportunities. The MoU paves the way for the two companies to jointly identify and pursue infrastructure opportunities in India and sub Saharan Africa with initial focus on power generation, transmission, railways, mining, and water and waste water segments.

Expressing his happiness at this important strategic tie-up with a respected group like Balfour Beatty for expanding business operations particularly in global markets like Africa, Mr. Prasad R Menon , Director , Tata Industries and Tata Projects Limited, commented that it would fast-track TPL’s journey to emerge as India’s leading Engineering Procurement and Construction player. He stated that the Tata Group would look forward to synergetic collaboration with Balfour Beatty in more diverse fields in the years to come.

Spea Team Visits TPL

 
    
 

Hyderabad, July 20, 2011: The Quality Services Division of Tata Projects Limited (TPL) recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Spea, an international Consulting and Engineering Company based in Milan, Italy fully owned by Autostrade per l'Italia Group, the second largest highways / motorway operator in the world. This MoU will build competencies of the SBU-Quality Services in operating as an “Independent Engineer” in Highways sector in India.

Mr. Vinayak Deshpande, Managing Director, TPL, Mr. Antonino Galatà, Managing Director, Spea, complemented both the companies and wished the venture all success. Mr. AK Misra, ED & COO, TPL, Mr. KK Gupta, VP & Business Head, SBU-Quality Services, Mr. A. Venkateshwar, VP, Corporate Affairs, and others were also present at the event, which was held on July 20, 2011 at TPL’s Corporate Office, Hyderabad.

Mr. Vinayak Deshpande Takes Charge as MD of Tata Projects Limited

 
 

Hyderabad, July 1, 2011: Mr. Vinayak Deshpande took charge as the Managing Director of Tata Projects Limited, Hyderabad with effect from 1st July 2011.

A graduate in Chemical Engineering (1980) from IIT, Kharagpur, he has over 30 years of work experience in different roles in diverse industries, starting with the design and sales of Boilers and Captive Power Plants in Thermax and Industrial Automation and Process Controls in Tata Honeywell, of which he was the MD of its India business for 5 years till 2004-05. After an eventful stint as the Executive President (Operations) of Tata Teleservices, Mr. Vinayak moved to Hindustan Construction Company Limited in 2008-09 as its President in-charge of EPC and construction business.

Mr. Vinayak is joining Tata Projects at a time when opportunities in the engineering and infrastructure space are growing rapidly and the Company looks forward to achieving all round excellence under his leadership.

Hyderabad, June 6, 2011: Tata Projects Limited (TPL) (SBU Water and Waste Water) received an order from Visa Power Limited (VPL) for the supply of plants, equipment, erection, testing and commissioning, including all civil works for Intake water package for 2 units (1x600 MW and 1x660 MW) of coal based Super Thermal Power Project at Deveri village in Dumarpalli district in the State of Chhattisgarh. The order value is approximately Rs.130 crore and its duration is 12 months from the date of award.

 
     
     
 

TPL and Danieli Corus Consortium Bags an Order for Constructing India's Largst Blast Furnace

 
 

Hyderabad, April 30, 2011: Tata Projects Limited (TPL) in consortium with Danieli Corus bagged a prestigious order from National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) for engineering, supply of plant, equipment, civil, structural work, erection and commissioning of 1x4500 Cum Blast Furnace Complex (Pkg-05) of 3 MTPA Integrated Steel Plant at Nagarnar, in the State of Chhattisgarh, on divisible Turnkey Basis. This is the largest Blast Furnace proposed to be constructed so far in India. The order value is approximately Rs.1200 crore and duration of the order is 33 months from the date of award.

 
     
     
 

TPL-TQ Services is the First Private Warehouse Accreditation Agency in India

 
 

Hyderabad, April 29, 2011: TPL-TQ Services, a division of Tata Projects Limited (TPL) that provides Quality Inspection and Accreditation Services, became the first private sector agency in the country to provide accreditation services to warehouses. An agency approved by the Quality Council of India and the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA), it has already received 35 applications from warehouses for certification. WDRA was set up pursuant to the Warehousing (Development and Regulation) Act passed in 2007 by the Government of India in its broader efforts to stave off the problem of hunger and develop a vibrant warehousing sector in the country.

Hyderabad, February 11, 2011: Tata Projects Limited (SBU – Transmission & Distribution) received an order from POWERGRID, a Navaratna Public Sector Enterprise and one of the largest transmission utilities in the world, for the supply and construction of 765 kV single circuit Chamradol – Satna section of Vindhyachal Pooling - Satna Ckt-I, Part-II Transmission Line package associated with Rihand-III and Vindhyachal-IV super thermal power projects in Madhya Pradesh. The order value is approximately Rs.170 crore and the duration of contract is 21 months.

 
     
     
 

TPL Receives an Order from Powergrid

 
 

Hyderabad, January 18, 2011: Tata Projects Limited (TPL) (SBU – Transmission & Distribution) received an order from POWERGRID, a Navaratna Public Sector Enterprise and one of the largest transmission utilities in the world, for supply and construction of 76 km-long of 765 kV D/C Transmission Line from Jharsuguda Pooling Station to Dharamjaygarh and 765 kV S/C LILO of Ranchi-WR Pooling near Sipat. The order value is approximately Rs.170 crore and is required to be completed in 29 months. The project is located mainly in Chattisgarh and partly in Orissa.

Hyderabad, January 17, 2011: Tata Projects Limited (TPL) (SBU Metals & Minerals) received an order from National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) for design, engineering, manufacture, supply of all plant equipment, including technological structure, refractory, civil, structural work, erection, testing, commissioning and demonstration of performance guarantee parameters of a 1.2 MTPA capacity pellet plant complete with all auxiliary system, construction of water, power and ancillary buildings at Donimalai in Karnataka. The order value is approximately Rs.180 crore and is to be completed in 18 months.

 
     
     
 
TPL Receives 765 kV D/C Transmission Line Order from Powergrid
 
     
 

Hyderabad, January 13, 2011: Tata Projects Limited (TPL) (SBU – Transmission & Distribution) received an order from POWERGRID, a Navaratna Public Sector Enterprise and one of the largest transmission utilities in the world, for the supply and construction of the 83-km long 765 kV D/C Transmission Line (T/L) from Raigarh Pooling Station, near Kotra, to Raipur Pooling Station, associated with the transmission system for IPPS (Phase-I, Stage-I, Part-A) in Chhattisgarh. Another 6-km long 400 kV D/C T/L from Raigarh Pooling Station (near Kotra) to Raigarh has also to be constructed as a part of the same package. The value of this order is Rs.160 crore and it will be completed within 26 months from the date of award or before February 28, 2013.

Interestingly, this is the first 765 kV Double Circuit T/L project awarded to TPL and for the first time in the country, a new tower design will be adopted which is compatible with Hexagon Bundle Conductor (6 conductors per phase) configuration which means that 36 conductors shall be strung along the line as against the maximum of 24 conductors being used currently. This is the first time in India that a T/L is being constructed at this voltage level i.e., 765 kV D/C with the above mentioned conductor configuration

Hyderabad, January 5, 2011: Tata Projects Limited (TPL) (SBU – Transmission & Distribution) received an order from POWERGRID, a Navaratna Public Sector Enterprise and one of the largest transmission utilities in the world, for supply and construction of the 160 km-long 765 kV S/C Transmission Line from Charkeri to Gwalior and 22 km-long of 765 kV D/C Transmission Line (common for Charkeri-Gwalior Ckt. I & II) associated with Satna-Gwalior (Ckt-I), Part-II Transmission Line System for Rihand-III and Vindhyachal-IV in Madhya Pradesh. The order value is approximately Rs.230 crore and it is required to be completed in 26 months.
