Tata Central Archives organizes an exhibition on Jamsetji N. Tata to inspire young minds in Hyderabad

Hyderabad November 27th, 2017:  Embarking on the idea of widening its outreach program and with the aim of inspiring the youth of today to follow in the footsteps of Jamsetji N. Tata, the Tata Central Archives (TCA) organised a moving exhibition on the Founder at – Delhi Public school Khajaguda, Hyderabad.


The exhibition holds great significance as Tata Group would be celebrating its 150th year in 2018. The Exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Vinayak K. Deshpande Managing Director of Tata Projects Limited along with Mr. V. Rajanna Vice President and Regional Head TCS, and Ms Geetha, Principal Delhi Public School (DPS), Khajaguda Hyderabad, at the school premises. Mr. S.R. Venkatesan of Tata Advanced Systems, Mr. P.K. Ghose, Director Tata Services, Mr. Don Doongaji and Mr RajendraprasadNarla of Tata Archives also graced the occasion with their presence.


The inauguration was preceded by a floral tribute to the Founder.


Speaking on the occasion Mr Vinayak Deshpande said “one needs to visualize the circumstances in 1868, to truly appreciate Jamshetji’s contribution. He has immensely shaped India’s growth and its industrialization, impacting generations.”


Mr. Rajanna quoted Mr Jamshetji Tata’s saying “ In a free enterprise, the community is not just another stakeholder in business, but is in fact the very purpose of its existence”. And highlighted Jamshetji’s contribution to business and society.


The exhibition is being anchored by DPS school students and about 30 schools are scheduled to visit the same.


This Exhibition which is specifically designed for school and college students, is a medium through which TCA, intends to inspire the young generation to follow in the footsteps of Jamsetji Tata, who by his vision, perseverance and love for his country, opened a new chapter in Indian industry. The display area is divided into four sections, which highlight the enterprises started by Jamsetji as well as his work in the field of education, environment and welfare reforms.


This Exhibition was previously taken to Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Navsari, Nagpur and Bangalore.


The Exhibition at Hyderabad is presented in a bi-lingual format i.e. English and Telagu.


It will be held at DPS Khajaguda from 27th Nov to 2nd Dec 2017. Entry for school and college groups is through pre-booked timeslots, a few of which have already been reserved.


Opening timing are as follows:

27th Nov to 30 Nov 2017 – 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. ( Schools / Colleges / General Public)


1st & 2nd Dec 2017 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (For Tata Employees / Group companies)
