Ethical Conduct has never been more important than now; not only for business but also for personal relationships and for society at large
Ethics play a crucial role in shaping the way people interact with each other and the world around them. Ethics are the moral principles that guide people’s behaviour, decisions, and actions. These principles are based on the concepts of right and wrong, good and bad, and fairness and justice.
With advancements in technology, we have more power to act, which means that we need to make choices which we didn’t have to in the past. There is availability and ease of access to more information than ever before and what will guide us to “Right and Wrong” is our moral compass…
In relation to business, all stakeholders are demanding increased accountability on ethical conduct… Companies that prioritize ethical conduct are more likely to gain the trust and loyalty of customers, suppliers, employees, shareholders and the communities in which they operate. Businesses that are transparent and ethical are more likely to attract business partners and employees who value integrity and honesty. Companies that follow ethical standards are less likely to face legal and reputational risks that can harm their bottom line as well as earn the respect of the Society at large…This brings a sense of pride to be associated with the organisation…
Ethics are also equally important in personal relationships. Individuals who prioritize ethical behaviour are more likely to build strong, healthy relationships based on mutual respect, trust, and honesty. They are also more likely to make decisions thinking beyond themselves, considering the feelings and well-being of others.
In essence, technological, economical and any other progress we make as a civilisation will not be a True Success, if we give up on our ethics and values. It’s our ethics that make us who we are….
