The win expands Tata Projects’ advanced manufacturing portfolio into automotive infrastructure, covering assembly, press and weld shops, and utility and support buildings
Mumbai, 3rd November 2026: Tata Projects one of India’s leading technology-led engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies and a key member of the Tata Group, has secured a major contract from a global automotive major for its greenfield plant at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. The contract marks an important milestone in Tata Projects’ expansion into the automotive sector and reinforces its position as a partner for complex industrial infrastructure.
The work covers three critical packages, the Assembly Shop, Press & Weld Shop, and Utility & Support Buildings, spanning civil, structural and architectural works; mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems; utility networks; and testing, commissioning and handover. The integrated scope requires close coordination across multiple engineering disciplines and construction workstreams to ensure efficient execution and seamless integration of the facility’s core production and supporting infrastructure.
The contract builds on Tata Projects’ growing capabilities in advanced manufacturing infrastructure, complementing its experience across semiconductor facilities, battery plants, data centres and other technology-intensive projects. Automotive manufacturing facilities demand a high degree of engineering precision, construction coordination and interface management, with the quality and sequencing of infrastructure delivery playing an important role in the transition from construction to production.
